Hyundai Mobis will participate in IAA Mobility 2023, which will be held in Munich, Germany, from Sept. 5 to Sept. 10, to showcase around 20 new technologies including electric vehicles (EV) and autonomous driving.
Hyundai Mobis plans to display Kia's flagship electric vehicle EV9 at its booth and introduce its electrification core technologies applied to the vehicle to visitors. The EV9 incorporates Hyundai Mobis' battery system assembly (BSA) and power electronics (PE) system.
The next-generation electric platform, e-CCPM, will also be exhibited. This technology involves applying core electrification components such as the battery system and power electronics system to an aluminum frame that can be adjusted in size. It's an integrated electrification solution that allows the production of various purpose-based vehicles (PBV) without the need to develop a separate platform for each vehicle type.
During the exhibition, Hyundai Mobis plans to invite major European automakers such as Volkswagen, Daimler and BMW to showcase its competitiveness in various new technologies such as electrification, autonomous driving and rollable displays, aiming to expand its orders in the European market.
Hyundai Mobis' overseas sales target for key components this year is $5.36 billion, with Europe accounting for about 25 percent of it, amounting to $1.29 billion. Recently, Hyundai Mobis also succeeded in winning an order for battery systems, a core component of electrification, from Volkswagen.
Following the IAA Mobility, Hyundai Mobis plans to accelerate its global sales efforts by participating in the Detroit Auto Show in the U.S. and the Tokyo Mobility Show in Japan, aiming to secure new customers and more opportunities.
