Local home appliance maker Coway's new massage chair "Mine" is leading the way here with its compact size and innovative technology, the company said Wednesday.

The company designed the Mine to be more compact, taking into account new insights about consumer reluctance to purchase large-sized massage chairs, which currently prevail in the local market. Coway's compact massage chair is about 47 percent smaller than existing products of other competing brands. Its compact size fits conveniently in any space in an office or at home.

The Mine applies a 180-degree rotational calf module, so it can be used as both a massage chair and recliner depending on user's needs. The rotating calf module is made to be a calf massage device in the front and a calf rest cushion in the back.

The massage chair offers a total of 11 massage services, including five automatic massage modes, five manual massage modes and a concentrated massage mode that takes care of one particular area on the user's body.

The Mine is specially designed with an ergonomic "S&L frame," which takes good care of the "S-line" curve from the neck to waist and the "L-line" bend from the waist to the thighs.

The product also strongly massages swollen calves by utilizing the "3Zone calf massage special function" using side airbags, rear airbags and chiropractic modules.

In addition, the Mine has a low noise level of just 37.8 decibels. It is also equipped with a built-in remote control that can easily be reached while receiving a massage.

Coway has also paid attention to the product's management, considering that it is difficult to a change massage chair once purchased. Customers renting the Mine can receive follow-up care services at home every six months.

"The Mine massage chair contains various premium functions in a compact size. It will lead the trend in the local massage chair market with Coway's innovative technologies and services," a Coway official said.
