IBM said it aims to achieve win-win growth with Korean companies by helping them achieve digital innovation swiftly and efficiently through its Ecosystem partner support program, the Korean unit of the U.S. technology company said Monday.
IBM explained its Ecosystem is a network of IBM partners consisting of various business operations, digital market and developers. The Ecosystem provides its customers IBM's specialized services such as hybrid cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The Ecosystem consists of 55,000 partners from across the world using IBM's hybrid cloud, data and AI, security and infrastructure services. There are over 730 operators joining the Ecosystem in Korea as well.
"Through the Ecosystem, we are putting focus on achieving win-win growth with our partners. We will collaborate with partners, build trust with them, enhance their capabilities and play as one team," Kim Jung-ho, leader of IBM Korea Ecosystem, said during a press conference at its headquarters in Seoul.
To support the growth of its partners, IBM has been providing them access to IBM PartnerWorld, its education and resource program.
IBM also introduced examples of how its Korean partners have achieved digital innovation by working together with the global IT firm.
Weatherpia, a local weather service provider, was able to provide enhanced weather forecast services to state-run broadcaster KBS by using IBM's MAX service.
IBM MAX is an optimized solution for delivering visualized weather information, using various applications and professional data, according to IBM Korea.
"The MAX is able to create various animations and graphics. With the MAX, we can even show viewers the movement of the weather that we weren't able to show before," an official of Weatherpia said.
Yeonmu Tech, a Daejeon-based IT service company, added it has been working closely with IBM since 2020 on a project to build a blockchain-based platform for Korea Minting, Security Printing and ID Card Operating Corporation (KOMSCO).
