World Environment Day: From greed to green
When this year started, I wrote an article in The Korea Times titled, “Climate Outlook 2022,” in January. This article mentioned a wide range of significant global events for climate change and sustainable development. Indeed, 2022 is a historic milestone, as it marks the 50th anniversary of the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in Stockholm, which resulted in the establishment of the U.N. Environment Programme (UNEP). This conference was widely known as the first international meeting on the environment.

The United Nations is initiating a series of celebrated conferences, as this year marks the 30th anniversary of the U.N. Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro.

Climate outlook 2022: Making climate action matter
The new year has come. The first global event of this year was the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022, held from January 5 to 7 in Las Vegas. As the world's largest electronics show, CES showcases technologies that signal important overarching themes for the future.
