The 13-member girl group Cosmic Girls released their fourth mini-album titled "Dream Your Dream" Tuesday.
The girl band also known as Woojoo Sonyeo (WJSN) is a rising star succeeding in the legacy of the previous girl group Sistar of the same talent agency, Starship Entertainment.
The album contains six songs: "Dreams Come True," "Love O'Clock," "Renaissance," "Starry Moment," "Thawing" and the Chinese version of "Dreams Come True."
The mini-album is the first in eight months since last year's "Happy Moment" full-length album.
The band performed "Dreams Come True" and "Starry Moment" at a showcase press conference held at YES24 Hall in eastern Seoul.
The title song has all the elements that make Starship Entertainment artists popular _ feel-good K-pop sounds and powerful dance moves. The members said they wanted to hit No.1 with the album, a feat not yet achieved since the band debuted in 2016.
"I dare to dream big, and I hope we can pull off hitting the top of the charts so our former songs Secret and I Wish can re-enter the chart," said Exy, who is the leader and rapper of the group. She took part in writing the rap lyrics for all of the songs. She also participated in composing the music of "Thawing" as well.
"We've laid a lot of stress on showing singular choreography that we are known for, and in elaborate dance formations that 13 members can do," said Yeonjung, a former I.O.I member.
Yeonjung and Dawon also said they received a lot of support from fellow Starship artists including Soyou while they prepared for the mini-album.
With the latest mini-album, the band adopted a "School of Wizardry" concept where the 13 members have formed into units. The younger members Dayoung, Yeoreum, Yeonjung and Eunseo are in the first year of this "school" acting as "deliverers" of dreams. Cheng Xiao, Xuan Yi, Soobin and Exy are in their second unit as "collectors." Seola, Bona, Dawon, Mei Qi and Luda, are in their third year of the magic school and can make dreams come true.
Asked if they were going to perform in these units, leader Exy said not in the immediate future.
The girls since their debut have mostly sung about love in their previous songs such as "Mo Mo Mo," "Secret" and "I Wish," but with this mini-album especially with "Dreams Come True" they sing about having hope in times of uncertainty as a way to reach out to many listeners.
As a band, the members said they think about their own "identity" especially when there are a myriad of K-pop bands and stars competing in the pop market.
"We talk a lot among ourselves about our identity. But we do want to be able to present various concepts, and we tried to put our individual characters and include storytelling with the latest album," Exy said.

Their fans lent support where they purchased eight electronic billboard ads near Times Square, the agency said Thursday.
Along with their promotional activities, the Cosmic Girls said they want to appear in popular entertainment programs such as "Running Man," "Take Care of My Refrigerator" and "Law of the Jungle."
The Cosmic Girls were asked about their upcoming competition with MAMAMOO, a popular girl band that has said they will release a mini-album on March 7. How do they feel about that?
"Every band has their distinctive color so I hope we can all do well on the charts," Exy said.
The four-membered MAMAMOO's sixth mini-album will be titled "Yellow Flower." This week, their agency released teaser images of the tentatively titled track song "Starry Night."
