The event, scheduled April 22, will take place at Freebird Cosmic Live in the Hongik University area in Seoul. It is hosted by the Rescue Team of the Citizens'Alliance for North Korean Human Rights (NKHR), who work to aid North Korean defectors staying in China in challenging situations. The number of North Korean defectors in South Korea topped 30,000 last year, and the figure is growing. Many of them go through third countries such as China and Southeast Asian countries before arriving in the South.
The event will feature DJs such as Baron Van West, FalseFace, Mikey B and JISOO, who will spin music starting at 9 p.m.
The Rescue Team, comprising volunteers, has been holding the campaign to help North Korean refugees since 2013. In 2016, the team succeeded in gathering 17 million won ($14,914) that was used to save seven North Korean defectors from human trafficking or being forcibly returned.
Entrance fee is 20,000 won. Visit facebook.com/NKHRRescueFund for more.
